Israel Intensify its attacks against Gaza

27th of februray
my sleep was lagely interuppted , last night so my daughter , the shooting was so heavy against diffrent areas of the city , as well as diffrent parts of the gaza strip , the jet fighters sound was too loud as well as the heliocapters sound ,
this morning 28th of february
it is dispropotional open war , civilians pay the price , 15 people were killed , as an outcome of last night attack , including 3 months old baby !!!!!!!!!(1000 children were killed in the last 5 years alone )
on my way walking to the Red Crescent Society , (i donot have fuel in my car ), it is only 25 mintues , while walking , i can cleary hear successive explosions, from diffrent parts of the city , and the drune on the sky , and also can clearly see the security forces soldiers, outside thier headquarters , as it is under threat of bombing by the israeli military forces , i had to walk very fast , expecting the worse ,
arriving my work to find out that we donot have enough fuel for the ambulance and the other work vehicles.
no fuel entered Gaza since 17 days , our storage has been exhausted , oh my god this situation will have its desasterous impact on diffrent health facilities .
Medical workers as always work under great pessure , and while iam trying to arrange for medical shipment entry to Gaza , donated by MECA , i endure living in such dangerous situation , and lack of electricity , we have scarce power 6- 8 hours daily at the moment ,fresh and clean pumped water is big proplem for most residents of Gaza,
i feel fedup , exhausted and drained of talking about the same topics again and again , and things get worse and worse , so please understand me when i donot write ,
safty is my big concern at the moment as well as meeting medical facilities medications and medical supplies needs
justice and peace is my great goal , please spread the word

  • Dear Mona - we hear it's even worse today than yesterday. We heard that four young boys were killed by an IDF rocket whilst playing football near a mosque in the Jablayah refugee camp. WE ARE VERY SORRY FOR WHAT IS HAPPENING TO YOUR PEOPLE AND ARE DOING ALL WE CAN BY CAMPAIGNING SO THAT MORE AND MORE PEOPLE KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING. The trouble is that nobody is taking any notice, even the UN, although they have just published a report about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. I hope you stay safe and that the siege is lifted soon so that at least daily life is tolerable. We stand in solidarity for your eventual freedom and justice for your people.

  • Dear Mona,

i read your blog often and i apreciate it a lot despite all the sufferings.

But how come you never say a word against the Hamas? how come you never ask to stop firing rockets?

Olmert and Abbas are starting a
long sincere processus that needs confidence; Hamas is doing everything to topple the efforts.

How can you expect Israel not to react?

Civilians pay the price,I agree (what about civilians in Sderot?), but maybe you should ask the Hamas to give answers. You can always blame Israel. As long as Hamas Fires missiles, Israel will respond and the international opinion will support it.

Maybe the people of gaza should ask the Hamas to behave like a gouvernement and not like a terrorist entity.

I know there are a lot of civilians like you that are longing for a real peace like a lot of israelis like me. I was among the people that encouraged the departure from all the gaza strip. Those who were against kept saying, thant once gone hams will fire more missiles and will reach Ahkelon.

I am so upset to see that they're right today.

Best regards and courage in these difficult moments.A brighter day will come.

    Keep on writing !

  • Dear Mona,
Thank you for sending us your personal and very touching messages. We're indeed trying to spread the word: I posted your message on my blog at www.intal.be in Belgium. Thank you also for still ending your messages with a ray of hope, against all odds.

  • I am sorry to hear the situation in Gaza is so bad now. The death of a child is a terrible thing. I can imagine the grief and anger that the parents must feel.

I wish that a neutral third party would mediate between Hamas and Israel. The back and forth attacks will solve nothing and only more people will die.

  • Hi Mona

You are not alone - we are with you, watching, hoping & praying. You are my only link with a friend in El Zaitun. I haven't heard from her since November and can only hope she is safe.
This situation is so wrong - it's a crime against innocent people and must be stopped.

Take care, be strong and know you have friends & support the world over.

  • May you remain safe. The news we are getting here in the US is dire, and I am so sorry. But you are not unheard.

  • Dear brothers and sisters in Ghaza and whole Palestine!
Please forgive us for not doing anything to help you except the du´a. It´s really mad that 1.5 billion believers are not able to stop aggression of less than 6 million kafirs. May Allah give you strenght and patience and lead you to the great victory.

  • for a sense of balance you might
tell how many kassams were launched
into israel each day. i am not
    without empathy over your captive
status in gaza but doing the same
thing each day and expecting a
    different result does not speak
well of the leadership of hamas.

your writing style is a bit choppy
but that does not distract from
    the earthy picturesque colors you
paint on the face of gaza each day.
i look forward to meeting you in
    the streets of gaza tomorrow.

  • I have been reading the reports and watching the news and am so utterly devastated by this latest attack. The photos of the suffering, the deaths, the funerals, the grieving families and community members, the ruined houses, the blown up buildings, the lives of little children and youth so disrupted and traumatized. What did little baby Malk al-Kafarna do to deserve death? I am sorry for the deep suffering of Gazans and appalled at the indifference and impotence shown by the world community. How much more must the Gazan people suffer? Surely soon the tide must turn and power that be can see the injustices done to victims. I pray for strength for you, Mona, your family, your neighbours and each person in Gaza, and bless you for your spirit and energy to go to work in such difficult times.

  • Dear Mona,

I do read your blog very often, as I don't want to close my eyes on what is going on in this world, especialy in your country. I'm 23 year old student from Poland, I'm Christian, but I just can't understand why innocent people have to suffer because of stupid war between politicians. And sometimes I'm angry that I can't do anything to help you all, that I'm powerless in this situation.

What I can do is to pray for you all. I do rememer about you in my prayers and I'm with you with whole my heart.

    Be brave! Be strong!

  • Dear Mrs. El-Farra

Justice and peace - the goal of everyone, except your Hamas government:

All your government leaders and religious leaders have gone into safe hiding places during this current Israeli attack. They worry about their own skins, not those of other Gazan citizens.

Hamas is placing Gazans in danger - they have commandeered 3000-4000 civilian homes (with their families living in them) around Gaza city, to act as a shield against Israeli attack. Each home is occupied by soldiers, ammunition, and food supplies. The families are not allowed to leave. There is no provision for the citizens' safety.

Thousands of rockets and mortars are stockpiled in the basements of homes and mosques in Gaza city and the various refugee camps in Gaza - yours too - with the families still living there, because Hamas knows that Israel will not knowingly attack civilian-occupied areas. The rockets and mortars are fired from among those homes. I hope that Israel does not lose patience and change their minds.
Yesterday, March 2, Hamas fired 26 rockets into Israel, killing and injuring several Israelis.

Hamas also has attacked convoys from Israel with mortars - convoys trying to bring bring food and supplies into Gaza. Naturally, they turned back.

As an interesting exercise, try changing the name "Israel" to "France", and the name "Gaza" to "Spain". How long, after Spain launched 26 rockets into France, would it take France to not only defend themselves, but to launch a full attack? Think about it.

I beg you to use your influence and contacts to try to bring pressure against your government to stop what they are doing, and give peace a chance.
You have my sincere wishes a better future.

  • Oh Mona, I am so outraged by what is happening, and cannot believe that the "first world" is doing absolutely nothing about it. My heart and prayers go to you and your people. May all this madness and suffering end! It is time for humankind to realize that in reality "love is the answer"

  • The world is full of idiots willing to go out and savagely kill each other, and all for the sake of their pagan religons. When the day comes, that they must make that final journey. They will be shocked to find that the only true and living God, has no religion. How many millions have been killed in the name of God? Even you my friend must be careful of what you say, or risk being slaughtered by some religious fool. If only this world could open it's eyes and see, a good heart is all you need to walk with God.

  • I guess the world needs to KNOW THIS...Hamas is trying to defend its people like how IRA wasnted british out. Isreal is occupying its land and hamas is fighting to free its land...so who is the terror and who is the freedom fighter here,...? The arab league is a puppet of western world. Why cant they release a joint statemnet that they will halt all oil export to any countries (including USA)that supports Isreal in this one sided attack? That whill stop this war automatically but they will not...they are piece of shits! when the arab world is fragmented, its easier for ISreal and USA to attain its goals....may god protect all and power is a cycle and its a metter of time USA and ISREAL will become the real victims soon...
